ADAM HENRY

Thesis Title:

Manufacturing Australian Foreign
Policy 1950-1966

Supervisor: Nic Brown

This PhD thesis seeks to examine the emergence of a new professional expertise (diplomatic, political, academic), within the context of Australian foreign policy history. The central question to be assessed is how did a new and expanding group of individuals (diplomatic, academic, political), come to be in a position to utilise their professional expertise and/or authority and how did they shape debates and/or influence policy choices?
